"Marcye acted as both the project manager and interior designer on a complete refurbishment of our summer home. We wanted to turn our outdated condo into a much more modern space. She was incredibly professional, both organised and creative, and came up with great ideas and understood our brief perfectly. As we live abroad, she was invaluable to us whilst we were undertaking this project and thoroughly recommend her." ~ GS Blackwell, York Harbor, ME

"Marcye Philbrook did interior design work for us over a period of about a year. She is not only a great designer, but a delightful person to work with in every way. Marcye is a good listener- she quickly understood what we were looking for and adapted her proposals to suit our tastes and sensibilities, while also introducing us to a lot of creative, new ideas. She even expertly negotiated differences between me and my husband, searching for products and regenerating designs until she could please us both. Her design concepts for the rooms in our home were natural, practical, designs-to-live-in. She has a wonderful sense of color and texture- I particularly enjoyed working with her to choose fabrics for pillow sets in our den and living room. The results were quite different for the two rooms, but each set is like an artwork in itself, with a few fun, specially constructed patchworks that she put together thinking about both design and efficient use of the fabric. She also has great contacts for painters, wallpaperers, rug dealers, seamstresses, cabinet makers, etc, who provided excellent quality products and services. When we realized we had a very tight spot for a bathroom sink, she custom designed a cabinet herself to maximize the use of space and even made the trip to the marble company warehouse to personally choose the cut of stone to use for the top. I love Marcye and I’d hire her again in a heartbeat." ~ Ellie Baker, Lexington, MA

"We have been working with Marcye on one project or another for over ten years. We started on our previous home, then moved on to our corporate offices and lobby, and finally we built a spectacular contemporary home from the ground up. She was there from the beginning, offering solutions and advice in meetings with the architect and builder, during construction working with me to choose absolutely everything, and designing from scratch when nothing suitable could be found. She was always conscious of the details and how they would work into the big picture. I find her a great partner to work with, and where I get stuck, she moves ahead with new ideas. Marcye designed just about everything in our house, including all of our rugs, fireplaces, the look of our stairway and built-ins, and even some of our furniture. She is truly an artist, and says she treats contemporary design like a painting. We couldn’t have built this house without her, and can't recommend her enough." ~Liliane and Barry Hibble, New Castle, NH

"It has been several years since I first called on Marcye to help us decorate our newly purchased horse farm in NH. She helped us create a casual, comfortable country retreat—from top to bottom—paint and wall coverings, window treatments, furniture and furnishings.

More recently, we asked her to decorate our 1899 home near Boston. The city home is a bit more formal and we had the challenge of incorporating existing furnishings that we loved. Again Marcye helped us create a somewhat more formal, but really comfy and tranquil interior.

Marcye is especially good at helping you figure out what you want. She has a great eye for color and for pulling the elements of a design together to create a special space. Beyond that she has such a great personality and is so easy to work with, that whatever project you work on with her is always a lot of fun." ~Jeanne Livermore and John Silva, Lee, NH

"Working with Marcye is a dream! She is able to understand exactly what you are trying to achieve with your style and leads you expertly and effortlessly into the foray of fabrics, trim and furniture you desire…..she has the ability to visualize what a room will look like and compliment owner and treasures admirably into the setting." ~ Susie Kline, Lexington, MA

"My husband and I have been privileged to work with Marcye Philbrook in the planning and design phases of our home. Having Marcye on board from start to finish was crucial in the obvious success of the project. She worked closely with the builder from the get go, helping to solve various problems as they arose. Always ready with helpful suggestions, giving direction when needed to keep the overall design concept on track. We found Marcye to be ever cognizant of our budget constraints and helpful in finding suitable substitutes when necessary. The end result is a beautiful home we are proud of and one that is a joy to live in." ~Joan and Art Jones, Portsmouth, NH

"Marcye has done a fabulous job with “staging” my clients’ homes in preparation for an upcoming sale. She’s delightful to work with – and has an immediate and natural way of making major improvements with seemingly little effort. She’s a can-do person and is willing to roll up her sleeves to get the job done. She also has an amazing ability to communicate with people about needed changes without offending their own sense of home and design.

I’d recommend her – and do – in a heartbeat!" ~Jane Morris, Real Estate Broker, REMAX Realty One

"Marcye Philbrook has been THE go-to professional for our home interior design needs for several years. She has helped me with colors throughout the house and with drapes for our living room, dining room, and bathroom. Most recently she was instrumental in the design of our renovated kitchen. From our first meeting, Marcye worked with me to get to know my tastes, ideas and budget to ensure that any changes are personally tailored. Without any drastic reconstruction, her ideas and creativity took our outdated kitchen from small and overcrowded to an inviting and roomy area in which to entertain. I look forward to working with her for all of our future home decorating projects." ~ Ellen McGregor, South Berwick, ME
